From the moment I found out you were on your way, I have loved you. It is amazing how, although I can't see, hear, feel, or hold you, you have completely changed my life. My every second is consumed by thoughts of you and a flurry of emotions that I have never experienced before--overwhelming excitement for your arrival, fear that I won't be everything you deserve, anticipation of what you will be like, surprise at the changes I'm experiencing, happiness by the very thought of you, worry that I am not doing everything right, thankfulness that I have been chosen to receive such a blessing.
I can't wait for the coming weeks to get to know you better. I don't know exactly what to expect or exactly what I can do to help me be the best mother that I can be, the mother that I know you need and deserve.
I thought that putting these words on paper could help me as I learn more about you and more about being a mother. More than that though, I hope that these words will help you know someday, just how much you mean to me and how much you are loved. We have never met, but when we do, I know what I’m going to say...“I’m your Mommy”.
